I'm Upset with Colin Powell....

Last night Jay Leno told Colin Powell what a great President he would have made. Colin thanked him for the compliment and I about flipped my lid! I've got some things to say to you, Mr. Powell.... And I wish someone would make sure you read them.

I know, I know... the reason you didn't run for President was because your wife was afraid you'd be killed if you were President. Like you didn't put yourself in harms way most of your married life to protect far fewer lives!

You would have won. You know it.

So you tell me,

How many Americans would we have lost in Iraq if you were the President.... Oh yeah, that's right, a lot closer to none.

How many lives would have been destroyed by Katrina if you had been in office and hired someone qualified to be the director of Fema? Oh, that's right, far fewer.

I can't believe you carry yourself as though you are still a great patriot. Mr. Powell you WERE a great patriot. But anyone who knew that he was the most qualifed person in the world to be a good president to our country, who didn't step up, is at least in part, responsible, for all the lives lost due to the idiot driving the bus since you left it.

I've seen how smug your wife looks when she brags you turned down the position you were born to fill - all for your love of HER. That's not just whipped Mr. Powell, that's whipped to a criminal extent. I know, I know there's no law against the best man for President of the United States refusing to take the position that desperately needs him..... But by God there ought to be and by God I do believe that when each of us dies , each and every one of us goes to our own personal hell where all the ripples of pain of all the people that were hurt by our heartless decision are felt in full measure before we're broken in two and forgiven. And you better hope I'm wrong.

I've been no perfect angel. None of us have. But I've never seen a finer man buy and pay for such a monstrously huge hell as you Mr. Powell.

Almost every one still sings your praises on both sides of the isle. But I can't imagine how you sleep at night.

I never expected much out of GW. I worked personnel for years and I knew he wasn't nearly qualified for that job. But you Mr. Powell.... you are the biggest political disappointment of our times.

You're a highly intelligent and educated man. You can make intelligent guesstimates. You can count. How many more enemies do we have in the world because you refused to run for the office you were extraordinarily well qualified to fill? How many more injured soldiers? How many dead soldiers, how many devastated by the clustercluck that was Fema and Katrina? All you have to do is count.

A life time of good work and then just stopping dead still when you got to the back stretch in such an important time in American history. You bring me to tears! You bring me to tears....

You aren't a patriot. You get paid very well for being one and you're not a patriot. You let us down when we needed you the most.
